How To Get Your Dream Job in Style
Karisa Brown·November 20, 2019

There comes the point in life where one realizes they have no idea what they’re doing. Personally, I’ve had a few of these earthquaking moments in my adventures of trying to grow up and start a career. After interning at Coded PR, a fashion and lifestyle PR firm, I’ve realized not even the grown adults know what's going on; they just look like they do.
There is magic in dressing as though you’re a confident young millennial who is ready to take on the business world. It may sound cliché and somewhat shallow, but it is important to understand that much of society’s perception of you is built on how you look and dress. That being the case, we need to be educated on how to dress stylish enough to stand out amongst the rest. To help out here are a few tips on how to dress the best, so you get your dream job in style.
Tip 1:
Put a blazer on. These days, you don’t always need to invest in the bland colored pantsuit, with a white-collar blouse. Many women on the job get things done styling their outfits with a casual nude blazer with jeans or spicing it up with heels and blazer as a statement pop of color.

Tip 2:
Save the mini skirts for your Saturday night out. You’d be surprised with how many girls show up for job interviews in skirts shorter than the interview itself. Do yourself a favor and leave the short skirts at home, and try the new trendy three-quartered printed skirt instead. This look invites admiration as well as it demands respect.

Tip 3:
When in doubt, walk it out in some closed-toed heels. Sometimes it’s hard to know the vibe of the interview or what you’re expected to come in. That being the case, remember closed-toed shoes are more than likely a must. Therefore keep it stylish with a blouse, pant, and some of your favorite heels!

Tip 4:
Accessories make ALL the difference. If you’re feeling like none of your clothes are cute enough for the shot at your dream career, take a look at your jewelry box. Sometimes the best outfits are the simple clothing pieces paired with jewelry, an accented belt, and a pop of color on your purse. Don’t forget there is more to an outfit than a top and bottom.

Hopefully, this helps generate some ideas and inspires some outfits for taking on the business world. Remember if you look the part, you’re already halfway there girl.
